So far we have four articles about the Tales Series. First are for the ones released between 1995 to 2000. Second one is for the ones released in 2002 to 2004. Our third talk about the ones in 2005 to 2007 while our fourth one is for 2008 to 2009. So this time, we will be talking about the ones released from 2011 to 2016.

Tales of Xillia (2011)

Unlike the rest of the Tales Series, in Tales of Xillia you’d be able to choose either Jude Mathis or Milla Maxwell as the main characters. Although it will not change the overall plot, this will affect certain things like scenes. The game is set in a world where humans and monsters coexist with spirits called Rieze Maxia. The story started when Jude, who was looking for his teacher at the Laforte Research Center was denied entrance, met Milla who claimed to be the Lord of the Spirit that is currently investigating the deaths of a number of spirits. Long story short, they managed to break in only to find a mana draining machine.

Tales of Xillia 2 (2012)

Tales of Xillia 2 took place a year after Tales of Xillia. Here, you will be able to meet the cast of the previous series. Unlike many JRPG where you can ship the main hero and heroine, Tales of Xillia offers a different take as the relationship between our main character, Ludger Kresnik, and the main heroine, Elle Mel Marta, is more like a brother-sister. Not only that, the one who made Tales of Xillia 2 even more different than many JRPG is the fact that the choice you made during cutscene can change the course of the story.

Tales of Zestiria (2015)

The story of Tales of Zestiria begins when our main protagonists, Sorey and Mikleo, rescue a girl called Alisha. Later on, they found out that she is to be a princess to the Hyland Kingdom. She then decided to become his Squire and fight the Lord of Calamity along with them. Tales of Zestiria utilizes Fusionic Chain LMBS which features a separate battle screen battles in the open field and environments like towns and dungeons take place in the same space as exploration. These encounters are called "Real Map Battles". 

Tales of Berseria (2016)

In Tales of Berseria, we will finally learn what happened a thousand years ago before the event of Tales of Zestiria. Unlike in the previous installment where the final goal is to beat the Lord of Calamity, here we will be playing as one of the people from the side of calamity. Here we will be playing as Velvet Crow who lost her brother in the hand of Shepherd. The Shepherd of that time was somewhat of a tyrant as they will eliminate anyone who was infected by even the smallest amount of malice.
