Survive Shibuya, The World Ends With You Anime Adaptation Confirmed!

During Anime Expo Lite 2020, SQUARE ENIX announced their new project, The World Ends With You anime adaptation! SQUARE ENIX's The World Ends with You has been out on a few platforms first was 3DS, then re-released on iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch. The game was developed by the same people who worked on FINAL FANTASY and KINGDOM HEARTS. The anime itself will include a great story and will use the same art style with the game.

The World Ends With You anime adaptation will be directed by Kazuya Ichikawa (Bakugan: Battle Planet, Monster Strike, etc) while the script will be written by Midori Goto. Tetsuya Nomura and Takeharu Ishimoto, the character designer and music composer for the original game will also be joining this project. The World Ends With You anime adaptation will include other members of the original team as well to bring the compelling story to life once more.

The World Ends With You anime adaptation story revolves around Neku, who was awakened in the middle of Shibuya's packed crossing with no memory whatsoever of how he got there. Without knowing anything, he’s been transferred to an alternate plane of existence known as the Underground (UG). Neku must partner up with a girl who suffers the same fate as Neku in order to survive in the mysterious “Reapers’ Game”. Together, they need to complete their mission and defeat “Noise” as they uncover the true nature of this twisted game.
