The first Project Diva game on Nintendo Switch has been announced in Japan on July 2nd, as the commemoration 10th anniversary of SEGA feat. HATSUNE MIKU Project. Developed by Sega AM2, the game is called “Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MEGA 39’s” (pronounced as Mega Mix) that will release in early 2020. The latest game of the series was Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X which released on PlayStation 4 in 2016.
Following the success of its predecessor, Future Tone, the game will be portable so Nintendo Switch is chosen. As far as the news goes, there will be two game mode, easy mode, and hard mode. Easy mode will be easy enough that a kindergartener can finish the song. If you are a rhythm game who likes challenges, you need to try the hard mode. In addition to the standard Project DIVA rhythm gameplay, Project DIVA MEGA39’s will also feature a completely new mode of rhythm gameplay! Players will be able to switch between modes freely, similar to Project Mirai's button and touch mode options. The details of the new mode are not yet revealed, but it will be available to play at Magical Mirai 2019.
The new game will feature 101 songs. One will be a theme song composed just for the game that’s yet to be revealed, ten will be new songs to the series, and 90 will be returning songs from the previous series. SEGA so far has revealed two of the new songs:
Alien Alien by Nayutalien
39 Music! by MikitoP
Some of the other songs included!
