Pokémon Masters Gameplay and Release Date!

Aug 28, 2019

LogoPokémon Masters is a 3v3 real-time Pokémon battle game for iOS and Android that follows the mainline titles’ strategic battle style. A release date for this game has been confirmed through the official twitter account.

The idea for this game originally came from GAME FREAK's Ken Sugimori. He suggested a game which features all of the past and present Pokémon trainers in the Pokémon series

This game is very different from Pokémon Go, which is an augmented reality mobile game developed and published by Niantic for iOS and Android devices. Pokémon Masters is battle and story-based and will allow players to battle alongside your favorite Pokémon Trainers from the main series RPGs.

Trainers

Players will travel along the artificial island of Pasio collecting Sync Pairs (trainers and their partner Pokémon). Players form groups of three Sync Pairs to participate in three-versus-three battles to try to become the champion of the Pokémon Masters League. If players want a particular Pokémon to battle with, players will have to unlock the trainer associated with them. There are a lot of unlockable and playable characters in the game.

There are multiple ways to unlock trainers. Players can buy in-game currency to gain a more expansive collection of trainers. There is also a different currency in which you can earn in-game once per day in order to unlock a character of your choice. And then lastly, playing through the story mode will allow you to battles which would lead you to recruit trainers and their associated pokémon into your roster.

Gameplay

The game's real-time battles will have players to use a moving gauge to attack as quickly as possible and then fill the gauge after. The trainers themselves can also use a skill to heal their Pokémon or to raise their stats.

Pokémon Masters official Twitter account has revealed that this smartphone game will launch on the 29th of August for iOS and Android devices. Said Twitter account will post daily countdown illustrations until the game's release.
