Nippon Ichi Software has released new information on the new game "The Murder Detective Jack the Ripper" for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, which will be released on April 25, 2019.

Set in a fictional London where medical technology has developed, Murder Detective: Jack the Ripper is a fully-voiced visual novel. While investigating a string of murders, private detective Arthur Hewitt, perhaps from the shock of discovering dead bodies, realizes the existence of “another person” within himself. This leads Arthur, living in strange cohabitation with a phantom that calls himself Jack the Ripper, to become wrapped up in a huge case that revolves around London.

The colourful characters that symbolize the light and shadow of the 19th century England and London are drawn with a solid touch.

The end of the case will change depending on the choices. The story will branch to "Detective Route" and "Killer Route" depending on the player's tracing options. Thinking "intelligently" and uncovering the crime of a criminal as the "Detective", or doing impulsive acts, as the "killer" to judge the criminal with your own hands. You will need to think in terms of "what will you do" and you can advance the story. As a result of the player's choice, the end of the story is greatly affected, such as the resolution of the incident and the life and death of some characters.

Other than the main story, the back of the chapter, the daily life of the characters, and a sub-story depicting past works. A lot of extras, such as profiles and database functions for collecting terms, are packed.

Characters

Arthur Hewitt

Work as a detective for about two years ago and owned a "Hewitt Detective Office" in one corner of London. He feels pleasure in helping people and citizens while continuing his detective work. He also has a good reputation because he receives detailed tasks such as lost items and pet searches.

Jack the Ripper

The existence of the mysterious person that appeared in Arthur's sight. Is it a ghost? Is it a delusion created by Arthur? His figure and voice can only be recognized by Arthur. He calls himself a murderer, laughs joyfully, and plays with Arthur. Jack the reaper should be executed 2 years ago...

Charlotte

A female police officer who works for the London police. Straight forward personality and tries to fulfil her duty as a police officer with all her strength. She will never turn a blind eye to crime and shows no mercy for criminals.

Harry Brown

A police officer who works for the London police. Mainly responsible for criminal cases. Partnered with Charlotte, however, don’t get along well as he is insane, serious and neat.

Rory Godspeed  - Union Family

Deputy leader of the London-based Mafia called the Godspeed Union Family. She is always taking care of something.

Walter Reichell

A doctor in London and also Arthur’s doctor. He is familiar with psychiatry through his own research as well as surgery and internal medicine and has high medical technology. Working as an autopsy doctor who receives a request for an autopsy from the London police.

Sophie Reichell

A daughter of doctor Walter who has a clinic in the corner of London. Even though she is young, she is bright and cheerful and cleans basic household chores, as well as receive taking care of the clinic as a simple assistant at the time of patient treatment.

Nippon Ichi Software has also released the second part of the promotion movie, system aspects such as bifurcations of "Detective Route" and "Killer Route", sub-story and database were introduced.
