Isekai, a genre that has gained more popular lately. It is easy to see why as the allure of travelling to a different world and starting an adventure is not something one could resist. There’s a lot that could be done in another world, however you need to get to isekai first. Don’t worry if you have no idea as we will let you know some ways to get to isekai! Bear in mind, this would only work if you are a fictional character. Humans, unfortunately, are unable to go to isekai.

Gaming Incident

Ever wonder how it feels like to live in a game? It might sound like fun, up until everything went wrong and you got stuck there. Yes, gaming is one of the ways to get to isekai. You might be stuck all by yourself, but on some occasions, you might be stuck along with others. This can be seen in many popular anime, from Sword Art Online, Log Horizon, Overlord, .Hack and many others. So if you don’t want to get to isekai, make sure you’re playing with the right game

Going Through 'Portals'

Here, portals could come in many shapes and forms. It could be a literal portal, gate, or even a well. This is the less shocking way to get to isekai compared to the previous one. Not less surprising, but at least you realized that you’re going somewhere. This way of isekai-ed can be seen in many anime, from the classic Inuyasha, the light hearted Isekai Shokudou, all the way to ‘reverse-isekai’ Hataraku Maou-sama!

Reincarnated

Reincarnation is not a forgein concept, however being reincarnated in a different universe that you knew, with memories of your past life is quite new. Unfortunately, to get to Isekai by this way, one has to lose their life first. From an accidental death to being killed, there are many anime that cover this method, like TenSura, Hamefura, to Kenja no Mago. Again, do keep in mind that this will only work if you are a fictional character.

Touching the Wrong Thing

Please make sure to keep your hands to yourself. We mean it. Sometimes, curiosity gets the best of you and you end up reaching for the wrong thing (mostly books). You might get to isekai for it! This could be seen from anime like Tate Yuusha and Fushigi Yuugi. So next time you go to the library, make sure to pick up only the normal looking book!

Unconventional Way

To get to isekai, there are also some unconventional ways. From being flushed to the toilet like Kyou Kara Maou, quick stop to convenience stores like Re:Zero, or even by wetting your pants like KonoSuba. Some of you might not agree with the example, but we have a good reason for it. Although technically Kyou Kara Maou is using a portal, the fact that the MC was transported randomly makes us decide that we can’t put it in the portal category. As for Re:Zero and KonoSuba, some might say that they are reincarnated, but we can’t really confirm that, thus they ended up in this category.
