Coming to Your Phone: Final Fantasy 7 First Soldier & Ever Crisis

Mar 08, 2021

Around a week ago Square Enix released news that caused some mixed emotions to the hearts of fans. The culprit none other than Final Fantasy 7. Even ages after its initial release, the game somehow kept on finding ways to surprise us. Not only we were surprised by the fact that we might be unable to play Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade (aka the second part of the game) in PS4, Square Enix also dropped the bomb by announcing that they will be releasing a couple of new games of the series for mobile under the title of Final Fantasy 7 First Soldier and Ever Crisis.

Final Fantasy 7 First Soldier

Although we haven’t got any exact date for the release of Final Fantasy 7 First Soldier, it was announced that the game will be released within 2021. The game will take place 30 years before the event of Final Fantasy 7, where we will be playing as a soldier battling through the Midgar. Unlike most of the games in this franchise, Final Fantasy 7 First Soldier will come in a form of battle royale instead of the usual JRPG. From the footage that was released by Square Enix, we can see that the game has an impressive visual of third and first person shooting action, and flashy summons. Although there is not much we can confirm just yet, one thing that we can be sure of is that we will be having an adorable Chocobo as mount.

Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis

For a hardcore fans of the series, Ever Crisis is a must have. The mobile game will be a collection of media where you can find the entire Final Fantasy 7 timeline. From Final Fantasy 7, Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus, this Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis will have it all! Unfortunately, just like First Soldier, we were not given any exact date for the release. All we have known so far is that Ever Crisis is planned to be out within the next year.

Now that we have received this wonderful news, do you think Square Enix will manage to live up to both the First Soldier and Ever Crisis hype? Or will they be nothing more than an add-on to buy them more time? Well… either way, we will sure be keeping an eye on them!
