Hey guys, Nick here bringing you more exciting and fun game news and reviews from Japan. Today I just got word that Sega has decided to port their well known MMORPG title Phantasy Star Online 2 for the PS4, which was originally for PC only. Let's check it out!
Developer and Published SEGA has made an announcement that service will begin for the popular title from the Phantasy Star franchise beginning April 20th 2016. How cool is that? For those of you who do not know, this is a follow-up from the MMORPG titles Phantasy Star Online and Phantasy Star Universe. It's a really fun sci-fi drama where your home base is on a ship and you are exploring the planets throughout the Phantasy Star Galaxy.
The game has actually been successfully running in Japan and Globally through a Taiwan publisher now for a few years. Some of the big appeal is that the title is free to play, but offers fun cash-shop goodies, such as vanities and booster packs which you can buy for real money. Personally, when I played the PC version for a couple years, it felt like I could not get any decent looking outfits without paying into the cash shop. Hopefully, on the PS4, it will be a little bit kinder. What do you guys think? Would you play this title? Let me know in the comment section below as I love to hear your feedback!
Above, I've included a cinematic trailer of the game so some of you who are not familiar with the franchise can get to know it a bit better, without giving too much away. It is confirmed that Sega will be releasing several packs on the PlayStation Network Store in Japan, for different amounts of money, and one value pack comes with a free cosmetic outfit!
