Hey guys, Nick here bringing you another fun game review from the Japan iTunes store! Today's game is called リズム怪盗R プレミアムライブ or roughly translated as Rhythm Thief R Premium Live by Sega, and is available now free to download and play on the Japan Apple iTunes App Store! This game is a mix of Rhythm-music game and also adventure as you are a thief who is making their way through France stealing artifacts and jewels. Let's check it out!
The game starts out with you as the main character with red hair who is shown in the image above! You and your doggy companion go on various missions to collect relics and artifacts, while fighting through levels of beat-stopping madness. I found this really fun because all it really requires you to do is tap on your phone to the beat at the right time to score major points for this game. One of the games in particular is a heist inside of a museum where you need to freeze to the beat to hide from security guards. I thought it was really fun and impressive, and the story was pretty cute as well.
Another cool aspect of the game is it is rendered in 3d, but also has cel-shaded graphics so it has the look and feel or a real anime! The characters you usually see inside of the game are zainy cute, but don't let that fool you, these rhythm mini games can be very challenging! I especially liked that each time you completed a stage you were awarded a special grade based on your skill with the rhythm timing. I believe this is based on a famous anime, but I am not quite sure. If you guys do know, please let me know in the comment section, as I love hearing your feedback, always! Another important characteristic of this game is the amazing music. The off-the-wall Jazz reminds me of Cowboy Bepop a bit. What do you guys think?
Above, I've linked a promotional video for the game so that you can get a more in depth view of this game, hands-on!
