Hey guys, Nick here bringing you more new and exciting game reviews from the Japanese video game market. Today, we're reviewing a popular title on the iTunes Store in Japan, developed and published by Sega called モンスターギア バースト, or translated to Monster Gear Burst. I found this to be both fun and simplistic. Let's check it out!
The object of the game is to basically tap your way with combos on the touch button pad on the screen and fight your way to the top against extremely powerful and memorable monsters. Some of the monsters and characters are also ones you may know from other Sega games. I found the controls to be simple enough to not really call it battle, but more like rhythm-battle.
As you can see in the image above, each button has a corresponding tactic. Either, attack, block or heal. The challenge in this game is more about timing and to know when exactly to attack, and when to defend or heal yourself or allies. Additionally, Sega is introducing Sonic characters into the game, which you guys might find nostalgic and fun. So what do you guys think? Would this be a title you'd try on your iPhone or iPad? Let me know in the comments section!
Above, I've included a promotional video on the title to give you a bit of a tease without sharing too much of the content. I hope you guys like this tapping JRPG, as I did! For those of you who do not yet have access to the Japanese iTunes Store, we have a quick guide for you to get started!
