Hi everyone! Nick here, bringing you more Japanese mobile game reviews and previews from my handhelds to your own devices! This week I had the chance to play the title, HUNTER×HUNTER BATTLE ALLSTARS, developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. and available exclusively on the Japan Apple iTunes App Store. This game comes from the very popular anime of the same title. I really enjoyed the amazing character designs as well as the JRPG battle elements to the game. Let's check it out!
The game starts out with a group party type situation that you will recognize from many Japanese role playing games. You are given a party of different members with unique techniques that will balance your battle and play through each instance. These characters are also major characters from the anime series, yet this game has it's own fun little side story line that HXH fans, and fans who do not know the series will enjoy.
Battle consists of powering up your characters and using swiping gestures to deliver timed attacks to enemies. As you clear areas you will gain experience where you will be able to strengthen your various party members to make it easier in the long run to defeat bosses. I also found the story line pretty cool, but do know it's primarily in Japanese so if you don't know the language it could be a bit of a struggle. Overall, I found the gameplay to be pretty simple, and enjoyed the cute cast of characters the title offered!
I posted a little bit of gameplay in a video above to give you a bit more insight as to how the game plays, without spoiling too much! I hope that you guys enjoy and try out this title. I encourage you to leave me comments in the comment section below of your feedback on the title, plus also any other games from the Japanese store you'd like me to review! As expected, UNTER×HUNTER BATTLE ALLSTARS, developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. is available only on the Japan Apple iTunes App Store. It is free to download and play, but they do offer some in-app purchases!
