Hi everyone! Nick here, bringing you the latest in Japanese gaming news and reviews! Today, I am reviewing a pretty solid JRPG on the Japanese Apple iTunes Japan Store, called Chain Chronicles, developed and published by Sega! This game mixes elements of other Japanese role playing games, plus more! I think you guys will also enjoy the beautiful art style of the title! Let's check it out!
The game starts out with you as a young boy who is journeying in a far away land with no one to assist him buy his faerie guide. As expected the faerie will be your guiding light and provide you with a tutorial. Pretty soon after her brief explanation you're thrown into the battlefield. Though a JRPG, this game has a side scrolling element to it! Enemies come towards you from left to right, and you must position yourself in proximity to them on the field board that will allow the biggest impact with your attacks.
As you push forward in the story, you are introduced to more and more characters who will become a part of your party and help you fight back dastardly foes! Interestingly enough this game has spawned from a popular anime by the same title. I have never heard of it before, what about you guys? If you know more about the franchise, I'd love to hear about more of it in the comment section below! I've also included a video of some gameplay to give you a more understanding idea of how the mechanics work. Overall, I think you guys will enjoy the style of game paired against the awesome story and art style. Enjoy!
